Education

Why Schools?

According to the Black Dog Institute, "Mental disorders in adolescence are the leading cause of illness and disability for young people aged 10 to 19 years, ahead of any physical disease. In Australia, approximately 14% of 4 to 17-year-olds experience a mental health problem each year, amounting to 560,000 Australian children and adolescents in any one year".

In today's fast-paced educational landscape, students encounter various pressures that can affect their mental and emotional health. Our presentation provides immediate strategies to help students thrive academically and personally.

What is Included?

Our workshops offer an immersive and hands-on experience. These sessions are designed to dive deep into practical stress management techniques, especially Breathwork, the science behind them and our personal stories using them. We guide students through these techniques so that they can experience them for themselves, while we also dive into connection activities which invites vulnerability.

Through interactive connection activities, students engage in open discussions about a variety of topics, including mental health, in a supportive environment, fostering resilience and breaking down stigma.

Our guided meditation to conclude the session provides students with opportunity to recharge, while promoting emotional balance. Beyond the workshops, students are challenged to integrate the techniques and strategies into their daily lives.

“Student feedback from the session was overwhelmingly positive, the session was timely and relevant to our students. We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with Uplift and embedding their workshops across our Wellbeing Programs.”

Personal Anecdotes

Explore the transformative impact of these techniques on our lives, drawing from our experiences during high school and professional sports endeavors. Through personal anecdotes recounting how we navigated the pressures of exams, athletic competitions, and social interactions, we provide students with relatable anecdotes that illustrate the tangible advantages of these methods.

  • Our vision is to arrive at a place where every student is proficient in recognising their internal state and responding in a resourceful way that reduces stress, anxiety, and overwhelm.
